TWF Xtreme 01

The intro for Xtreme plays as the lights in the arena go out. The intro ends with a bang, as the lights come up and a few fireworks go off at the top of the entrance ramp. Fozzy’s cover of “Over the Mountain” hits the speakers as CEO Simon Prior makes his way to the ring, clapping the fans for their support. He steps into the ring and grabs a microphone, standing in the centre of the ring for a few moments, taking in the atmosphere.

“It’s been a while coming, but finally the TWF is back on the air, and nobody’s more excited about it than me. We’ve got some great guys on the roster  and I’ve no doubt that the TWF will go from strength to strength. Now, onto my first item of business.”

Prior moves towards the ringside team, and takes a championship belt off the ring announcer.

“This is the TWF World Championship. As you might guess, the belt is currently vacant. However, that will soon be rectified. Next week on Xtreme we will have an elimination tournament, with the winner being declared the first TWF Champion of this era. This tournament is open to the whole roster, so anybody who’s interested in challenging for this belt (and I’m sure that’s all of you), then all you have to do is turn up for the show next week. Simple as that.”

He hands the belt back to the ring announcer and returns to the centre of the ring.

“Now, this wouldn’t be a wrestling show without some wrestling matches, right? Well that’s my next item of business. To get us off to a kick start I’m proud to announce the first match – our resident German athlete Flake Spitzenkörpe will take on Huge Greenburger. Further matches will be announced as the night goes on. So settle down and enjoy the show!”

Prior’s music hits again as he claps once more before exiting the ring and returning backstage.

We cut to the backstage area, where we see Flake warming up for the upcoming match. Greenburger approaches quietly from behind, sock puppet on hand. Without warning he shouts out loudly, causing Flake to jump and turn around in surprise.

“WAS IST DAS?!?”

“Hewwo! I got a match against you later on, and I want to win!”

Flake looks confused, not understanding a word of it.

“And you are German and you are an ather-leet, so you are probably better than I am.”

“Better?…. better… better… oh ja, besser! Ich bin besser als Sie! Und ich gewinne für Deutschland und alle meine Leute!”

Greenburger looks scared and starts to cry. Flake moves forward to pat Greenburger’s shoulder, but his arm gets caught in some cable hanging off the wall, resulting in his arm being around groin level.

“Get away! Get away!”

Greenburger runs off, crying excessively as Flake looks on, confused. He untangles his arm and takes out a bottle of baby oil.

We cut back to the arena, where Symphony of Destruction hits the speakers. Soon after, Real Deal emerges from behind the curtain and makes his way to the ring. The crowd boo at the egomaniacal wrestler. He steps into the ring and grabs a mike, before staring out at the audience for a few moments with contempt in his eyes.

“Before any of you get any ideas, let me say this. The Real Deal isn’t here to make friends. The Real Deal isn’t here to play fair. The Real Deal isn’t here to be anything less than top of the game, and that’s what I’m going to be, whether you all like it or not. As for you guys out the back… you don’t even come close to being in the same league as me. The World title tournament next week… there can only be one winner. And I’m sorry to say this guys, but the belt belongs to me! Oh you can turn up and fight your heart’s out, but for all I care, it doesn’t count for anything. As soon as you come up against me, it’s game over. So just a friendly piece of advice – don’t turn up next week, or you’ll just end up embarrassed and simply the latest in a long line of wrestlers put out of their misery by the Real Deal.”

He moves to return the microphone, but then I Will Fight Alone hits, and Sean Harrison makes an appearance, walking to the ring slowly yet with a powerful stride, showing off his full size and strength. Deal looks concerned as Harrison climbs into the ring, staring briefly towards Deal before grabbing a microphone of his own. Deal backs off into a corner.

“Deal, you go on about it being “Game Over” as soon as anyone steps in the ring with you. Well I’m here now, and you don’t look much of a threat to me at all. You said you’re going to be top of the game. I dispute that. I have the strength, the size and the will to do well in this company, whether you like it or not. So you can come out here and bitch and moan about being the greatest, but believe me – that title’s going to be mine. If I have to go through you to get it, then so be it.”

Streets of London suddenly hits, and Dirty Dipako enters the stage area. He paces the stage as he speaks into his mike, addressing the two guys in the ring.

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. You guys are just puppets to the big suits, playing out your little games and hoping someone pays some notice. Well, no pun intended, but Big Deal! Y’know, the title doesn’t really mean all that much to me, but I’ll be in that tournament all the same. So we’ve got the big scarred guy with the crazy look in his eyes and we’ve got Mr “I wanna be a big shot and have lots of money”. How many more freaks are we gonna invite into this circus? It’s all about the fame and the money for you, isn’t it? Well believe it or not, but there’s more to life than money and fame. Number one on the list is pain, and that’s exactly what you fellas are gonna feel from now on. In fact, let’s put a little wager down now. I bet a week’s wages that I can beat both of you in the ring tonight. It wouldn’t bother me if I lost. I mean, it’s only money, isn’t it? So come on guys, let’s see if you’ve got some backbone!”

With that, Dipako exits, leaving a subdued Harrison and Deal stood in the ring as we cut to a commercial. We return to see Greenburger stood in the ring, his music still echoing around the arena. Zwitter hits the speakers, and Flake makes his entrance, oiled up and ready to fight. Greenburger backs off as he enters the ring, and the bell sounds.

MATCH 1 – Flake VS Huge Greenburger

Flake moves forward to shake hands with Greenburger, who recoils at the sight of him approaching. Flake looks confused and re-offers his hand. Greenburger tentatively reaches out to shake, but quickly retracts his hand when he realises that Flake has gone for a complete body oiling session.

Flake moves forward to attempt a few amateur wrestling flips, but Greenburger manages to wriggle out of all of them. Flake stops dead in his tracks and offers Greenburger the chance to do a move. Greenburger looks puzzled for a moment before smiling and moving forward. Flake again offers the opportunity for a free shot. Greenburger winds up and throws as hard a punch as he can towards Flake… which barely causes Flake to flinch.

Greenburger tries throwing a few more punches, all of which bounce of Flake with almost no effect. Flake smiles and prods Greenburger in the arm, who starts crying. Flake decides enough is enough, bouncing off the ropes and hitting Greenburger with a swinging DDT. Flake gets to his feet, but Greenburger remains on the ground, apparently completely unconscious. Flake moves toward the fallen big man cautiously, unsure if it’s a ruse or not.

He quickly covers Greenburger, and the ref counts the 1,2,3. Flake returns to his feet victorious, but Greenburger remains on the floor, completely out of it from a single move. Flake motions for the EMT’s to enter the ringside area and help Greenburger, who remains unconscious for the entire trip on the stretcher. The cameras follow backstage as Greenburger is loaded into an ambulance, with an upset Flake accompanying him.

We cut to backstage, where The Player is walking through a corridor. A tech is walking in the opposite direction, and accidentally bumps into The Player. The Player stops in his tracks and stares at the tech, before attacking him from behind, throwing him into the wall. He picks up a steel chair and smacks the dazed tech across the back of the head, and is about to give him another shot before several officials intervene and surround the crazed wrestler. As the officials move him away from the scene of destruction, The Player gives a sadistic smile, before walking off. We cut to Simon Prior’s office, where he is quite clearly angered at The Player’s actions. There is a knock at the door, before Vayne enters the room. He stands next to Prior’s desk. Prior addresses him.

“What is it Vayne?”

“It seems as though everybody else in this company has something to do tonight, but you haven’t spoken to me about a match or an interview or anything. I’m Vayne, dammit! I deserve some air time!”

“Okay then, you want air time? You’ve got it. Tonight you’ll face The Player in a singles match.

“Wait, The Player? Didn’t that guy just obliterate one of the tech guys?”

“He did.”

“Well… erm… isn’t there anybody else I can fight? What about Huge Greenburger?”

“He’s already had a match tonight. My decision is final, Vayne. Now get out, I’ve got work to do.”

“Man… The Player…”

Vayne exits, muttering to himself, as we cut to the arena. The Player’s music begins to play, and he quickly makes his way to the ring, smirking at the crowd and generally showing his disdain for them. Vayne soon follows, the fans cheering for him despite his ego. He stops short of entering the ring, sizing up his opponent.

MATCH 2 – Vayne VS The Player

Vayne gets the match started, throwing some quick kicks and punches at The Player, trying to do as much damage as he can before The Player has time to react. Vayne tries one kick too many, as The Player grabs his leg and takes out Vayne’s planted foot from under him, following up with a savage kick to the back of Vayne’s thigh. Vayne rolls out of the ring quickly, regaining his composure and trying to work some life into his leg.

The referee reaches a 6 count before Vayne re-enters the ring. Vayne attempts some more punches, but The Player blocks and flips Vayne up onto his shoulders, before hitting a heavy Samoan Drop. He goes for the cover, but Vayne kicks out after 2. The Player picks Vayne up and throws him to the corner, then sprints towards him. Vayne just manages to evade the shoulder charge, and knocks The Player down in a schoolboy rollup, but The Player kicks out after a 1 count. Vayne throws in a few more kicks and punches, disorienting The Player.

Vayne slings The Player into the ropes, hitting him with a standing dropkick. Vayne then proceeds to the corner as The Player returns to his feet. Vayne jumps and hits a top rope dropkick, and goes for the cover. This time round, he gets a 2 count. He gives The Player a few more kicks before sitting him up and placing him in a headlock/sleeper. The Player climbs to his feet and drops backward, crushing Vayne beneath him.

The Player lifts Vayne to his feet and hits a triple powerbomb combo, followed by a walking side slam. He goes for another cover, and again only manages a 2 count. Vayne finds some strength and hits The Player in the gut several times before bouncing off the ropes and into The Player’s waiting boot. Another cover gets another 2 count. The Player moves Vayne to the corner, and sets him up for a turnbuckle DDT, but Vayne fights back and hits The Player with an inziguri to the back of the head.

Vayne hits The Player with a variety of fast paced technical moves – a kick to the thigh, a running neckbreaker flip and an STF, before going for a cover, getting a 2 count. Vayne moves on to hit a quick Frankensteiner on The Player, and getting another 2 count from the pin. The Player rolls out of the ring, angry at not being able to dominate the match. He grabs a steel chair from ringside and gets back in the ring. The ref tries to stop him but gets pushed out of the way. The ref calls for a disqualification. Vayne runs forward to stop the chair attack, attempting a dropkick on The Player, but misses as The Player steps to one side.

Vayne returns to his feet and gets smacked across the head with the steel chair. Officials and security run into the ring and attempt to remove The Player. After several officials and security guards get chair shots, The Player is finally subdued and removed from the arena. The camera focuses on a dazed and bloodied Vayne as a promo video for the forthcoming triple threat match is played, before we go to a final commercial.

The three competitors each make their way to the ring, very soberly and without much excitement or signs of emotion. They all look incredibly focused on the match and coming out of it as the victor. They each take a corner of the ring as they wait for the bell.

MATCH 3 – Real Deal VS Sean Harrison VS Dirty Dipako

Deal starts off by quickly rolling out of the ring, allowing the other two wrestlers to go at it first. Harrison takes the initial advantage, spinning Dipako round and punching him across the side of the head, then hitting a big back suplex. He goes for the cover, but Real Deal interferes and breaks up the count after 2. Harrison throws Dipako from the ring and sizes up against Deal, who tries throwing a couple of punches. Harrison blocks, grabs Deal in a headlock, and performs a running bulldog, followed by a standing figure four leglock.

Deal tries moving towards the ropes, but can’t quite make it. Dipako climbs to the top turnbuckle and flies into the waiting arms of Harrison, who breaks his hold on Deal and slams Dipako down hard. He goes for the cover, but Dipako kicks out after 2. Harrison picks up Dipako and hits him with a sidewalk slam, then goes for another cover. Deal breaks it up before the ref can get down to count. Deal kicks Harrison a few times before setting him up for a neckbreaker.

Harrison breaks loose and slings Deal into Dipako, who hits Deal with a sidekick, but is then clotheslined by Harrison. Harrison again goes for a cover, this time on Deal, who kicks out after 2. Harrison throws Deal from the ring and attempts a pin on Dipako, who likewise kicks out after a 2 count. Real Deal distracts the referee briefly, giving Dipako opportunity to hit Harrison with a low blow.

As Harrison stumbles away, Dipako runs forward and hits a running knee to the top of Harrison’s head, then follows up with a running elbow to the fallen Harrison. Before Dipako can attempt a cover, Deal returns to the ring, catching Dipako by surprise and hitting the Deal Maker! But Deal is too out of it to make the cover, and so the referee begins a 10 count. Harrison is the first to his feet, again focusing his attention on Dipako, the smaller of his two opponents.

He lifts Dipako to his feet and hits a devastating chokeslam on the Londoner. He covers, but somehow Dipako manages to kick out after the two count. Deal returns to his feet and hits a chicken wing suplex on Harrison, then hits a leg drop to Harrison’s head. Deal then moves over to Dipako, who gets hit by a swinging neckbreaker. Deal goes for the cover, and again, Dipako somehow kicks out after 2. Deal gets frustrated and hits a big legdrop on both men, and attempts another pair of legdrops, but this time Harrison moves, catching the surprised Deal in a half nelson, and hits the Attitude Adjustment!

He covers, but is again interrupted after 2 by Dipako. Harrison powerslams Dipako, then hits him with a big powerbomb. Harrison tries setting up Dipako for the Difference Maker, but Dipako manages to squeeze out of the vertical suplex and gives Harrison a dropkick to the gut. Dipako moves quickly over to the turnbuckle as Harrison is doubled over – he hits The Clash! He covers Harrison… 1…2….3! The match is all over.

Dipako makes a quick exit as Deal returns to his feet, complaining to the referee. Dipako smiles as he celebrates his win, backing up the ramp towards the curtain. Deal is beside himself with anger, and tries to take it out on Harrison. He sets Harrison up for the Deal Maker, but Harrison gives Deal a low blow, and takes him down with the Attitude Adjustment for a second time. Dipako gestures towards the angered Harrison as Xtreme goes off the air!
