The show begins with highlights of a court scene. Phillips has taken Deal to court, claiming that Deal has no right to make matches or any executive decisions in the TWF. Deal counters the argument, stating that when Phillips left the TWF he left Deal in charge, and both signed the documents that state this fact. The judge states that the case will need to reconvene at a later date whilst the evidence is thoroughly examined. Cut to the arena, with huge pyro and explosions. Symphony of Destruction hits, and the Real Deal Simon Prior makes his way to the ring, looking both stressed and angered.
“Tonight I don’t wanna stand here and moan about losing to Vayne last week at Architecture of Aggression. I’ll get back to him eventually, but currently I’ve got bigger fish to fry. So tonight Adam Phillips, it’s gonna be me and you 1 on 1 – it’s time to see if you really are the God you claim… or would like, to be. Now get your ass out here.”
Deal waits a few moments, but then Cyclops plays through the arena, and Ax goes to the ring. Deal moves over towards him in anger.
“Easy there big guy, at this point in time we ain’t got no problems. Just like you, I got a problem with the so-called owner of this company. I got a problem with his business relationship with Reaper. So Prior, I suggest we challenge their sorry asses to a tag team cage match later tonight. That way there’s nowhere to run, and no where to hide for Mr. Adam Phillips. And both of them will learn respect.”
Vayne’s music hits, stunning both Deal and Ax, who turn to face the arena entrance. Vayne enters, and stands on the stage.
“Well, well, well… If it isn’t the guy I beat last night and some old guy not even half as cool as me, bitching about the fact that they are a bunch of losers! I’ve had enough of it! So what I suggest is this: we will have a triple threat tag team ladder match tonight, you two, Phillips and Reaper, and myself with a partner of my choice.”
Before either Deal or Ax can respond, I Just Wanna Be God plays, and Adam Phillips appears on the wall screen.
“Don’t you ever shut the hell up? I mean, you are moaning worse than the whole of the UK’s firemen put together! You do have a good idea there Vayne, but wait a minute – what the hell does this have to do with you? Oh wait, I see. You’re just trying to stick your nose in. You’re beginning to realise that even though you’re the TWF champion, nobody gives a damn about you! Anyway, I agree that we will have a Fatal 4-Way ladder match tonight between Vayne, Deal, Reaper and Ax. But just to give it that TWF edge, just for the entertainment value, we will have a cage assembled around the ring. It will have no part in the match outcome, the winner will be the one that retrieves, say, the TWF Championship! That’s right Vayne, your title will be on the line! Now that is what I call a match!”
I Just Wanna Be God plays as the crowd goes wild.
We go to a commercial break, and return as Zwitter begins to play across the arena. Flake enters, followed by his friend Huge Greenburger. Live Life, No Rules hits the moment they enter the ring, and the crowd erupt as young superstar Spitfire makes his way to the ring.
MATCH – FLAKE (w/ Greenburger) VS Spitfire
Flake and Spitfire are quite evenly matched, despite their differing styles. Flake takes advantage early on, managing to effectively hit a belly-belly suplex and an atomic leg drop in quick succession. He attempts a cover, and gets a two count. Spitfire fights back, and manages to knock Flake to his knees. He bounces off the ropes, and dropkicks Flake in the head. He thinks about a cover, but opts instead to climb the turnbuckle and hits a corkscrew splash on the German athlete. This move clearly hurts Spitfire, who is still hurting from the last PPV. He clutches at his ribs, as Greenburger attempts dismally to distract the referee, and give Flake time to recover. Both men get to their feet, and Flake throws Spitfire into the turnbuckle, and executes a mini Flake Splash. Spitfire once more clutches his ribs, and falls to the mat. Flake, seizing the opportunity, hits the Flake Splash, then puts Spitfire in an Abdominal Stretch, doing untold damage to the young fighter’s ribs. After a few moments, he taps, unable to take the pain any longer. As Flake celebrates his victory, and starts to leave, Spitfire stops him, refusing to stay down. Flake is initially unsure what to do, before nodding at him and shaking his hand. There is a showing of mutual respect between the two. Neither man was in good condition following the match at Architecture of Aggression, the relative shortness of this match being testament to that fact.
We cut to Deal’s office, and see that he is on the telephone to his attorney.
“Can’t believe that son of a bitch… You’re damn right we’re gonna kick his ass. It clearly states in those contracts that I should be in charge of business here in the TWF”
There is a knock at the office door.
“Gotta go, someone’s at the door. Thanks.”
He gets up and answers the door, and we see the two police officers from the Fallen Angel case.
“What the hell do you guys want?”
“Just here to inform you that after closely examining all the evidence, we won’t be proceeding any further with the allegations regarding the kidnapping of Fallen Angel.”
“Glad to hear it. Anything else?”
They shake their heads and leave. The camera follows them as they make their way towards the exit. However, they bump into Adam Phillips on the way.
“Ah, Mr Phillips, just the person we were looking for. We have a few questions, mind if we go in your office and talk?”
Phillips looks worried.
“Er, sure.”
Camera cuts back to Deal’s office, where we see Vayne storm in.
“Hey man. Listen, things just haven’t been going too well round here lately. You and me, we used to get on like best buddies until that Adam Phillips came back. I mean he’s just getting in the way of business. I preferred things the way they used to be. What do you think?”
Deal stands, and considers what Vayne has just said for a few moments, before lamping him in the face, and knocking him to the floor. He kicks Vayne out of the office, and closes the door.
We cut back to the arena as Adam Phillips makes his way down to the ring.
“I’d just like to take some time to make a few announcements. The next TWF PPV will be on December 29th 2002, and shall be called Revelations. It is a tradition here in the TWF that Revelations is a once a year spectacle, in which all TWF superstars use alternative entrance and exit themes. I have no matches to announce at the current time, but rest assured, this is going to be one hell of an event! Now onto another subject: As owner of the TWF, and a legend, I hereby request that if there’s anyone out there – audience, backstage, lighting roof, wherever – that knows anything about the disappearance of Fallen Angel, please come forward now.”
There is a long pause.
“I can understand how you would be reluctant as it may look suspicious. Hell if you’re the guy, the woman, or the people who did it, now’s the time to confess!”
There is another long pause.
“Well I can see this isn’t getting me anywhere. But if somebody doesn’t come forward soon and take responsibility, then I will have to resort to more drastic measures.”
He leaves the ringside area, as the camera cuts backstage. We see Xander Rivers and Greenburger talking.
“Tell me more about your father, Huge. Did he ever meet my father?”
“I dunno, Mr Saddo says I shouldn’t talk about daddy’s wrestling.”
“Okay… well then, did you ever meet my father? He was one of the best in this industry in his prime.”
“I dunno who your daddy is! Leave me alone!”
Greenburger runs off crying, leaving Rivers looking confused and slightly annoyed at the lack of answers. We cut back to the arena, where the main event is set to kick off. All four men make their way to the arena, as TWF officials finish setting up the cage and placing four ladders into the ring.
MATCH – VAYNE VS DEAL VS REAPER VS AX (4-Way Cage & Ladder Match. TWF Championship)
The match gets underway quickly, with Vayne attacking Deal and Reaper attacking Ax. Reaper picks Ax up, and drops him with a powerful body slam, before reaching down and choking the veteran. Meanwhile, Vayne has already thrown Deal into the unforgiving steel cage, and attempts a pinfall, but they do not count. Frustrated, he starts climbing the cage, but Deal climbs to his feet and knocks the TWF Champion to the mat. Reaper lifts Ax to his feet, and throws him into the ropes, but Ax reverses, and Reaper goes crashing into the cage. Deal drops a punch on the head of Vayne, then moves over to attack Ax, who is setting up a ladder in the centre of the ring. He bounces Ax’s head off the steel rung, and starts climbing himself. Reaper and Vayne get up simultaneously and both knock down the ladder, with Deal landing awkwardly, neck-first, across the top rope. Vayne and Reaper start slugging it out. Before either can gain an advantage, Reaper is low-blowed by Ax, who then starts slugging it out with Vayne. Both men lock up, and Ax places Vayne in a headlock, which is easily countered. Vayne throws Ax to the ropes, then executes a perfect standing dropkick. Deal and Reaper return to their feet, with Reaper starting a vicious assault on the champion. Deal climbs the cage, goes over the top, and drops to the outside then, looking stressed, injured and not completely with it, leaves the ringside area. The fans can’t believe it, and Reaper casts a bemused glance in Deal’s direction, before continuing his assault on Vayne. Reaper places the ladder, flat, in the centre of the ring, and lies Vayne on top of it. He then picks up a second ladder and puts that on top of Vayne. He bounces against the ropes but, just before doing some serious damage to Vayne, is stopped by Ax, who runs at him and hits him with a diving reverse DDT. Ax climbs to the top turnbuckle, as Vayne removes the top ladder. Ax jumps, seemingly towards Reaper, but instead hits Vayne, who is still lying on one ladder. The noise is incredible, and Vayne is hurt considerably. Ax also took some damage, but not enough to stop him from setting up a ladder above Vayne and starting to climb. As Vayne struggles to get back up, Ax reaches the top of the ladder. He is within a finger’s reach of the belt when Reaper clubs him across the back, climbs a few steps on the other side of the ladder, and chokeslams Ax off it! The crowd roar as Reaper signals for the Blood Scythe. He lifts the catatonic Ax to his feet, gets him in position….. and hits the Blood Scythe, leaving Ax a quivering mess on the mat. Reaper starts climbing the ladder, and he also comes within a hands reach of the belt, but he is stopped by Vayne, who back-drops him off the ladder. Vayne places a ladder on top of Reaper, who is face down near the ring ropes. Vayne mocks Reaper, before climbing the cage. He reaches the top, and neither Reaper nor Ax have stirred. Gathering as much courage as he can, Vayne….. climbs down a couple of feet. He then leaps off the cage, landing back first across the ladder, crushing Reaper beneath. Vayne gets uneasily to his feet, and smiles at the carnage he has caused. He gets the referee to open the cage door, and drags Reaper to the outside. Reaper starts coming too, and Vayne quickly grabs a nearby chair and smacks Reaper across the head with it. He gets back into the ring, and vehemently demands that the referee lock and bolt the cage door, leaving just Ax and himself in the ring. He sets up the fourth and previously untouched ladder near the centre of the ring, and climbs two steps. Ax stops him climbing any further, and both start a brawl that Vayne starts winning. Ax kicks Vayne in the groin area, and quickly hits the Ax Cutter. He thinks about climbing the ladder, but instead chooses to set up one ladder near the ring post. He opens a third ladder, and places Vayne between the two sides of it so that Vayne is on his back, and his head and throat are sticking out of the bottom edge. Ax climbs the second ladder. He waits a few moments, then jumps, hitting Vayne with a super leg drop from the top of a ladder! Weary and injured, Ax climbs the first ladder, still in the centre of the ring. Reaper attempts to get into the cage, but the door is locked. He starts climbing, desperate to stop Ax. But he is too late, as Ax retrieves the hanging belt, and becomes the new TWF Champion! Ax jumps back down to the mat, and raises his arms, triumphant, as Cyclops begins to reverberate through the arena. Within a few moments, Ax’s music cuts off, and we cut to the wall-screen. It is still mostly dark, but a few random shapes can be seen moving on it. We hear a voice speaking, as if the person is talking on the telephone.
“I see we’ve drained as much money out of him as we’re gonna………..Okay, I agree with you………….. yeah……………… okay, we’ll bring him back into the country…… yep, yep………. Yeah……. We ain’t gonna need him for much longer. I’ll be in Japan by Monday, I’ll take care of it.”
The telephone is put down, as the crowd look stunned. As Fuel fades to a dramatic close, and despite the quality of the recording being negligible, nobody present can deny the fact that the voice sounded like none other than………… The Real Deal Simon Prior!
